View Irina's Grand Prix Final Clip

February 7th- Best wishes to Irina at this week's European Championships! The start orders for the Qualification Groups have been posted to the Official European Championships Homepage. Irina skates second out of eighteen skaters in Group B.

January 21st- An interview with Irina in a Russian newspaper has been translated into English and placed on the SkateFan's List.

January 19th- I've had several requests for a video clip of Irina's groundbreaking performance at last weekend's Grand Prix Final. I'm currently experiencing audio difficulties with my capture program but I've the first25 seconds of her program for those who haven't yet seen her two triple-triple combinations. A complete program clip, complete with audio, will be added later this week.

     Irina is in 2nd place after the first round of the Grand Prix Final. She skated her Carmen long program complete with 6 triples and earned 5 second place ordinals, 1 first place, and one third place. Visit the IceCalc Homepage to view her scores. She will skate her short and second long program tomorrow!

December 26th- Congratulations to Irina for winning her first Russian Nationals Championship. Maria Butyrskaya was second, Viktoria Volchkova was third, and Julia Soldatova was fourth.

November 25th- Irina skated cleanly and placed first in the short program at Cup of Russia! Best wishes to  Irina tomorrow's long program. She has drawn the first spot in the final group of skaters. 

October 27th- Another bridal photo of Irina can be found at International Figure Skating Magazine's News and Results section. The short article talks of marriage to husband, Sergei Mikheyev. 
Irina also performed in an Evening With Champions 1999 where she appears to have debuted her new short program which was described as a romantic cello program.  She apparently skated very well. :-) Sandra Loosemore has written a detailed review of the show.

October 3rd
Irina finished second in the ladies portion of this weekend's Keri Lotion Classic competition. The overall competition was Russia vs the USA with the former dominating the compeition. In addition, the ladies socres were added and Irina's marks placed her second overall among the women.   A reviewer on RSSIF wrote that Irina "looked great in a flowing black dress with long black and purple skirting. She performed beautifully." :-)

For those who have not heard the news, Irina got married over the summer. She met her spouse Sergei at a Physical Education Academy.
