Nancy arrived at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics as a gold medal favorite. After her dazzling short program, Nancy found herself in first place.. Two days later, Kerrigan delivered the performance of her career in the long program. In the most controversial decision in Olympic figure skating history, Nancy and Oksana tied for first place in the long program. In the event of a tie, the skater with the higher artistic mark wins the competition. Oksana had a .01 lead over Kerrigan in the artistic scores and took home the gold medal. Nancy earned the silver medal while Lu Chen won the bronze. After the Olympics, Nancy retired from amateur skating and began a very successful professional career. "Olympic
