I recently went to an Eastern Championship, we had much fun. I met a lot
of new people and we hung out together, which was hard because all we had
time to do basically was to practice and compete. My team mates are like
my sister's and cousins. When I grow up, i want to be a skater.
I am 12 years old. I am in the 6th grade. My social studies teacher said
we had to do a research paper on a African-American rolemodel for Black
History Month (February), and of course, I picked you. You are a great

made me really proud because I'm Brazilian and I finally saw a great
skater like you, give the right value to the music of my country. You
danced the "Axé" really well, not bad for a french girl! ;-)

USA. I am SO proud, not only are you a wonderful skater, but I am so
happy to read that you are also adopted. My husband and I are
starting the adoption process, and all we have gotten from people is
negativity and fatalistic attitudes about the insurmountable
"adoption issues". You boost our belief that adoption is
